What kinds of items does Beanstalk Consignment accept?
We currently accept new and gently used brand name children's clothing (0-12 ), maternity clothing, children's furniture, equipment, toys, books, decor and accessories. All items must be in PERFECT condition.
When can I bring items in?
All consignors must call ahead for an appointment. Non-clothing items are accepted year round. Our annual schedule for clothing consignment is as follows:
July 1st - September 15th
Fall and Winter Children's and Maternity
September 15th - November 1st
Holiday Wear and Outerwear Only
February 1st - April 15th
Spring and Summer Children's and Maternity
How should I prepare the items I'm bringing in?
We recommend that you carefully go through each item you plan to consign. All items must be in perfect condition, clean, in season and in style, and must come in ready to sell. Clothing should be brand name only and should be brought in on hangers or neatly folded in shopping bags or boxes. Equipment, toys and furniture should be clean, in good working order and must meet all current safety standards.
I'm so busy! Is there a fast way to consign?
Consigning can be time consuming, as each item must be entered in to the computer by hand. Our "drop and run" option is used by most consignors as a way to consign, literally, in no time. Items may be left with Beanstalk staff, who will review the items and enter them into the computer.
You will receive a detailed item and price
list in the mail, and any "no thank you's"
will be donated to charity
How long
will you try to sell my items and how do the
markdowns work?
The consignment period
last a total of 75 days. Children's and
maternity clothing items, toys, books, decor
and selected bedding are reduced by 25%
after 30 days, and by 50% after 60 days.
Furniture and equipment are not subject to a
markdown. At the end of 60 days, you can
retrieve any unsold items. Any items not
picked up after 75 days from the original
date of consignment become property of The
Beanstalk Consignment Company and may be
donated or re-sold.
The important question- How much money will I make and how do I get paid?
While you probably won't get rich through consignment, we hope to put as much money back in your pocket as we can. Remember, it is in our best interest to price items for maximal return. Keep in mind however that we also need to pay close attention to market factors. We don't want your items to go unsold due to unrealistic pricing. Prices are set by Beanstalk staff but we welcome your input.
Consignors receive 40% of
the sale price of children's clothing,
toys, books, bedding and maternity, and
50% of the sale price on furniture and
equipment.
The Beanstalk Consignment
Company is not responsible for notifying a
consignor they have money available to
them. Consignors are responsible for
inquiring about and collecting there
earnings from Beanstalk. Upon request,
checks can be mailed for a $1.00 fee.
Consignment earnings not retrieved within
12 months of the original date of
consignment become null and void.
Thank you for your interest in Beanstalk Consignment. We look forward to working with you!
